Meet Our SWAN Ambassadors

Heather Renton
Heather Renton is the Founder and former CEO of Syndromes Without A Name (SWAN) Australia. Heather is the mother of two children, one of whom has a rare genetic condition called FOXP1 Syndrome. 

Heather is a consumer representative on a number of different advisory groups and committees and is a passionate disability and health advocate, particularly around genomic technology and co-design.

 

Heather is a freelance consumer advocate and consumer engagement consultant.

Professor Sue White
Professor Sue White is a clinical geneticist at the Victorian Clinical Genetics Services. Sue works clinically with families seeking answers for their undiagnosed children and leads research in this field which has had national and international impact.

Associate Professor Tracy Dudding-Byth

Associate Professor Tracy Dudding-Byth is a full-time consultant clinical geneticist and Director of the NSW Genetics of Learning Disability (GOLD) service. Her clinical and research interests include Neurofibromatosis type 1 and the genetics of intellectual disability and rare diseases. 

Joshua Patrick

Joshua Patrick is our SWAN siblings ambassador. He has a sister with an undiagnosed genetic condition and their family is based in WA. Josh is also a TEDxYouth speaker, Carers Australia young carer media ambassador, army cadet corporal, student leader, disability advocate and a young carer.
