I have been an artist most of my adult life and have always been drawn to capturing people so love doing portraits. My background is teaching children with disability, so when Crystal approached me to paint a SWAN portrait it was a no brainer for me.

Rhys had the most beautiful and captivating smile, and for a boy who was non-verbal, he had complete conversations with you, using that smile on his face. I wanted to capture that smile and share it with other special needs parents to remind us just how much joy and love these unique kids brings to our lives. Gone too soon, but never forgotten. We will love Rhys always, forever 10.
